L & R Joinery are joiners and carpenters based in Derby, covering the whole city and its suburbs.
Derby is our home base, and we've built our reputation on delivering outstanding joinery work throughout the city and its suburbs. From the Victorian terraces of Darley Abbey to the modern developments in Mickleover and Allestree, we've worked on properties of every style and era. Our local knowledge means we understand the specific challenges and opportunities that Derby homes present, from period features that need sympathetic restoration to contemporary builds requiring precision modern joinery. We cover all areas of Derby including Littleover, Normanton, Spondon, Chellaston, Oakwood, and Chaddesden.
Local Knowledge
Homes & Joinery in Derby
Derby's housing covers almost every era. The mill cottages of Darley Abbey sit within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, the streets of Normanton and Pear Tree are lined with Victorian terraces, and Allestree, Chaddesden and Spondon are full of 1930s semis. Newer estates in Chellaston, Oakwood and Mickleover add thousands of modern homes.
We've fitted kitchens throughout Allestree, Littleover, Chellaston, Spondon and Oakwood, hung doors in Normanton terraces and on Chellaston new builds, laid herringbone parquet in Darley Abbey and built wardrobes from Cathedral Quarter period properties to new homes in Mackworth and Chaddesden. On the trade side, we carry out first fix carpentry for Derby builders on developments from Oakwood to Littleover.

What Derby Customers Say
"Anton is a true craftsman and a consummate professional. What initially seemed like a straightforward door job turned out to be much more challenging, but Anton handled it with precision and skill. His workmanship is immaculate, and the doors fit perfectly thanks to his attention to detail. You can tell he's an expert not just from the quality of the finish, but also from the professional tools and techniques he uses. Once you've had Anton work on your home, you won't be looking for another joiner, that's for sure!"
