L & R Joinery are Derby-based joiners and carpenters covering Swadlincote, Derbyshire, about 11 miles from our base.
Swadlincote and the neighbouring villages of Woodville, Church Gresley, Newhall, and Midway have seen considerable growth in recent years, with new housing developments sitting alongside the area's traditional brick-built homes. This mix creates steady demand for our services, from first fix carpentry and kitchen installation on new builds to replacement doors, panelling, and fitted furniture in established properties. The town's proximity to Burton upon Trent and Derby means we're frequently working in the area and can respond quickly to enquiries.
Local Knowledge
Homes & Joinery in Swadlincote
Swadlincote grew on clay and pottery. Sharpe's Pottery is now its museum, and the town sits at the heart of the National Forest. Brick terraces in Church Gresley, Newhall and Woodville date from the pottery and mining era, and large estates have been built around the town in recent years.
With so many new homes, our work here leans towards the trade side: first and second fix on new builds, then fitted wardrobes and upgraded doors once people have moved in. In the older terraces we're mostly asked for kitchens and loft conversions.

What Customers in Nearby Derby Say
"Anton is a true craftsman and a consummate professional. What initially seemed like a straightforward door job turned out to be much more challenging, but Anton handled it with precision and skill. His workmanship is immaculate, and the doors fit perfectly thanks to his attention to detail. You can tell he's an expert not just from the quality of the finish, but also from the professional tools and techniques he uses. Once you've had Anton work on your home, you won't be looking for another joiner, that's for sure!"
